Finishing – Haymes to the rescue

Our Courtyard walls have been rendered and the water feature is clad in blue-board. How do we finish it?

Finishing is a matter of choice. As it turned out, Haymes Paints came to our rescue. “No Problem”, they said, in answer to our inquiry. “We’ll send two painters around to finish it with our new Rendertex coarse-textured paint.” What an offer! Here’s how they did it.

1. Ensure that surface is clean and punch all nails.
2. Apply adhesive mesh tape to any corner joints and fill with render patch. Trowel the fill flush with the surface and square all corners neatly.
3. Sponge the Render Patch to a smooth finish.
4. Apply a coat of Render Prime over all the areas to be painted.
5. Brush on the first coat of Rendertex coarse texture paint using crisscross brushstrokes. Apply a second coat if it’s required.
